As a Global Payroll Specialist, you’re responsible for ensuring all payroll-related services are delivered accurately, timely and in compliance with our Backbase policies, and all applicable regulatory requirements for all our international locations.

What will you be doing?

You will be handling all international payrolls accurately and timely, following the schedule for each country. You will critically review and analyse current payroll, benefits and tax procedures to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations. In order to ensure flawless handling of our payroll, you will ensure that we maintain employee records in payroll-related systems and ensure that our compensation & benefits administration is always up to date.

In order to make informed decisions, you will manage regular preparation of relevant management reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, and so on, and prepare recurring and ad-hoc reports as needed by management and accounting/finance.

As communication is important, you will coordinate efforts between all stakeholders (in particular Finance and Human Resources) to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data (status and personnel changes, tax withholding, benefit deductions, and so on). Furthermore, you will proactively communicate compensation & benefits information to our employees. You will, of course, maintain full employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information strictly confidential.

Besides hands-on work, you will take on an advisory role. We trust you to oversee and initiate all types of mobility cases and act as an advisor to our candidates, employees, management and HR. You will also advise management and HR on all aspects of payroll activities, regulations and options in order to ensure compliance, and optimise benefits for employees and candidates within our strategy.

  • You should have relevant and considerable experience with international payrolling, preferably in the US, UK and The Netherlands, and detailed knowledge of payroll statutory requirements.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and solid financial acumen.
  • You have great administrative skills, though your social skills may even surpass them!
