The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced marketer that is driven by results and has strong digital DNA. The main focus of this role is around demand / lead generation and increasing brand awareness. You lead by example and have hands-on experience in online marketing, running (outbound) demand gen campaigns, and being successful in high tech B2B marketing context. You know how to invest to maximize results, test and optimise demand generation programs, run (event) marketing operations, develop marketing campaigns and measure the impact of marketing across the funnel. You will lead the marketing team and will be reporting to the CEO, work closely together with the VP Product Management - who is responsible for Product Marketing activities (analyst relations and product collateral). You also will work closely with the Head of Communications & PR as well as the Regional Sales teams and their territory leads.

Responsibilities

  • Developing the marketing strategy for Backbase in line with its company objectives.

  • This role will need to establish a close and efficient two-way communication with sales leadership, and the field sales & channel teams.

  • Create, manage and optimize marketing programs with focus on achieving key demand generation objectives enabling regional sales growth.

  • Meet quarterly demand generation and new sales opportunity targets through inbound demand gen campaigns, outbound prospecting, and events

  • Strong focus on smart online marketing tactics (SEA, LinkedIn/Twitter Ads, display, content strategy, webinars, etc.).

  • Build effective relationships with field sales and channel sales. Execute lead generation plans per territory for the sales organization and for our key channel partners.

  • Execute on event (conferences, exhibitions) strategy, tactical plans and project manage all logistics, execution and post event analysis.

  • Develop premium content and presentations, one-pagers, case studies, research reports, social media, and webinars

  • Work cross-functionally to oversee the timely execution of the marketing plan.

  • Ensure all activities achieve standards, adhere to current messaging and remain within budget.

  • Forecast, evaluate, measure and report on marketing campaign effectiveness and ROI.

Your profile

  • Street smart and digital savvy. Proven to be able to do more with less. Do-it-yourself mentality.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience at SaaS or B2B technology companies, in marketing, direct marketing, or demand generation roles

  • Significant experience managing successful demand generation programs from creation through to execution, measurement, analysis and reporting across channels, products and verticals.

  • Strong budget management and project tracking capabilities

  • Proven ability to work in a demanding, fast paced, high growth environment under tight deadlines

  • The ability to manage multiple programs at one time and support a diverse sales organization.

  • Strong presentation, writing and communication skills required

  • Creative problem solver and resourceful in meeting marketing program goals to grow market share

  • Ability to think strategically and articulate strategic initiatives

  • Excellent project management skills with an ability to prioritize on their own, and delegate tasks when appropriate
