Permanent role, primarily based in Backbase Cardiff, Wales, UK

Salary; £18-22k depending on experience

The Opportunity

Backbase builds innovative, customer-facing software applications and services for some of the world’s leading financial institutions.  We’re looking for somebody to become the beating heart of the new Cardiff office - helping us establish a fun, safe and pleasant place to work.


Skills and Profile

You are smart, confident, dynamic, adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a varied set of challenges.  You are conscientious, organised and a self-starter who gets stuff done.  Your motivation to continuously improve is infectious and you will be a champion for Corporate Social Responsibility.  You will use your excellent written and verbal communication skills to influence key stakeholders across the company and promote us to the wider local community.  You have a good grasp of tools such as Word and Excel and can produce clear, dynamic reports.

Experience in a similar role with Health & Safety Executive (HSE) compliance responsibilities is highly valued.



Responsibilities will be wide ranging, but will include:

Creating a pleasant and safe working environment

  • Organise workspace maintenance and improvements

  • Health & safety responsibility including ensuring compliance within legislative requirements

  • Stock our office and kitchen supplies

  • Ensuring our assets are secure

  • Ensuring we have a clean, presentable working environment

  • Promote the Backbase culture and DNA



  • Support our teams by liaising directly with HR, Finance and ICT with their concerns

  • Recruitment; assist with screening and scheduling of interviews

  • On-boarding; ensure new starters have everything they need to hit ground running

  • Asset tracking

  • Dealing with supplier invoices

  • Organising travel and accommodation

  • Primary point of contact for people reaching the office


Events, PR and CSR

  • Organise, host and promote events in conjunction with the management team

  • Find opportunities for Backbase employees to give back to our local community


The role may include occasional travel to London and Amsterdam.
